My family sessions are around 1.5 hr - 2hrs long, depending on the size and age of your family. For toddlers, I recommend 1 hour.

I will have a preparatory call with you to talk in detail about clothing, colours and styles that work well for you and your family. I will share a style guide with you to help you when thinking about what to wear and what will make the photographs look timeless and beautiful.  The most important thing is that you and your family feel comfortable and confident in what you are wearing and your clothes represent who you are.

I photograph both outside on location e.g. a park or beach, or I can come to your home.

When photographing outside the best time is around sunrise or sunset to get soft, dreamy lighting which will make your photographs extra special. However, if these times are a struggle to make with your children, let me know and we can look at alternative times.

To help me plan for the session and ensure you get the right style of portraits for you, I will ask you to fill out a questionnaire to find out more about you and your family and uncover any requirements you have.

We will also have a preparatory video call before the session, where we can run through any questions you may have, talk through how I run the session, discuss what to wear, the location and most importantly, so you can meet me virtually.  Meeting each other and having a chat during the consultation call, helps the photo shoot run smoothly and ensures you feel more comfortable coming into the shoot.

This is the most common concern for families when they book. Please don’t worry, or let this put you off. I go at the pace of your children. We chat, play games and take plenty of breaks. If they are not in the mood when we first meet, then I might take photographs of you and ask them if they’d like to be my assistant, or just go and explore for a few minutes without the pressure of the camera. I find if we keep it relaxed and fun children will warm up to the idea pretty quickly, especially when they can see their parents having lots of fun. I will also work out the right time of day with you before the session, to ensure they have eaten and are not due a nap. I know how 'hangry' I get when tired or hungry! I also have two little ones myself, so I understand the importance of timing and keeping things light and fun!

My style of photography is natural and unposed. I rarely get families to look at the camera. If you are enjoying yourselves and feeling relaxed, your photographs will reflect this. So I focus most of my sessions around play, connecting with your children and not looking at me and my camera. I've been told my superpower is helping people relax and have fun in front of the camera :) My photoshoots are all about connecting as a family, while I create some beautiful photographs for you. Whether that's walking & exploring in your favourite park, playing games with your children, having a cuddle, or reading their favourite story, I am here to guide you through the whole experience and create photographs you will treasure for years to come.
 

Families come in all different shapes and sizes, each being wonderfully unique and my sessions celebrate that. I am there to document the love and connection between you and your family. This can be immediate family, children on their own, couples, grandparents, family and friends or the whole extended family. I have both family packages (up to 6 people) and an extended family package (7+ family members).

They will be uploaded to an online gallery within 3 weeks of the session.
